WHAT IS ON THE EXAM?
The official Florida Sales Associate examination outline contains nineteen content areas. Questions test your knowledge, understanding, and application of real estate principles and practices, Florida real estate law, and real estate mathematics.
Not every subject receives the same emphasis. The official content outline assigns a percentage of the examination to each topic.
HIGHER-WEIGHTED CONTENT
These are selected higher-weighted sections from the official nineteen-area examination outline, not a complete list of every subject that may appear on the exam.
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
The end-of-course examination is part of completing your approved 63-hour Florida pre-licensing education. The Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Examination is the separate state licensing examination administered later in the licensing process.

Brokerage activities and real estate contracts each account for 12% of the current exam outline. Residential mortgages, property rights, appraisal, brokerage relationships, and title-related subjects are also significant portions of the examination.
The examination tests Florida-specific licensing law, Commission rules, brokerage relationships, duties, disclosures, violations, penalties, and other regulatory subjects in addition to general real estate principles.
Mathematical concepts appear throughout the official outline, including commissions, legal descriptions, financing, closing computations, and real estate taxes. Practice solving problems without relying only on memorized definitions.
The actual examination gives you three and a half hours for 100 questions. Timed practice can help you become more comfortable making decisions, moving forward, and returning to questions you want to review.
Use practice questions to identify subjects you consistently miss, then return to your approved course materials and review those concepts before testing again.
TEST DAY
Florida's candidate booklet instructs candidates to report to the test center 30 minutes before the scheduled examination.
Candidates must bring two forms of valid signature identification, including one government-issued form such as a driver's license, state identification card, passport, or military identification card.
Candidates who completed pre-licensing education must present their valid Certificate of Pre-Licensing Education Completion each time they take the examination unless another qualifying document applies.
Permitted calculators must meet Florida's testing requirements. They must be silent, hand-held, battery-operated, nonprinting, and may not function as prohibited information-storage or word-processing devices.
The examination is administered electronically. Before the exam begins, candidates receive an opportunity to complete a computer tutorial, and the tutorial time does not reduce the examination time.
Candidates receive an official photo-bearing examination result report immediately after completing the examination.
SCHEDULING THE EXAM
After you are eligible to test, the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Examination is scheduled through Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE currently states that appointments may be made as late as one calendar day before the desired test date, subject to availability.

AFTER THE EXAM
Florida's current Candidate Information Booklet states that candidates receive an official, photo-bearing examination result report immediately after completing the examination.
Passing the examination is a major milestone, but it does not automatically place your sales associate license in active status. The remaining process includes license issuance and, if you want to work in active status, becoming associated with a qualifying Florida real estate broker and activating the license.
New Florida sales associates also need to plan for the required 45-hour post-license education before the initial license expires.
